LA Times: Home of Bunny Stivers seeks a big payoff in the Hollywood Hills

Article originally appeared in the L.A. Times.

The Hollywood Hills West address where late socialite and writer-producer Bunny Stivers made her home for decades is for sale at $6.495 million.

The 4,700-square-foot house, built on an elevated half-acre lot in 1959, was taken down to the studs in the 1970s and completely re-imagined by noted designer Waldo Fernandez.

Among features are a media room/studio and a large living room with a wet bar and a secondary lounge. Built-in bookshelves fill one wall in the den. The common rooms are oriented toward the swimming pool and have sliding glass doors that open to the grounds for indoor-outdoor living and entertaining.

The master suite has a walk-in dressing room and a skylight-topped spa. There are three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a powder room in all.

Stivers…began her career in television in the 1950s working for Dick Clark and as a writer for the game show “The Big Payoff.” She later partnered with her husband, Bob Stivers, now deceased, in producing the “People’s Choice Awards,” the annual special “Circus of the Stars” and the talk show “Dinah’s Place,” starring Dinah Shore.

Marcie Hartley of Hilton & Hyland and Samara Saffian of Dilbeck Real Estate hold the listing.
